HLG 100 Rspec®

Great light . I wish I could use a dimmer though. I have a 65 W light that I also need a dimmer for, but y’all quit selling them😞

I now have 2 HLG 100 Rspec® In my 20 x 36" tent that produced 91g or 3.25oz from an 18" Auto flower on Lotus Nutrients. Quite pleased for the $$. Ambient temperature of 81 to 84F with variable Vivosun evacuation is working great.

I am a hlg dedicated grower and only use a hlg 100 boards for each plant, you guys have allowed me to all the parts to give me 3 veg boards 3 flowering boards and 3 drivers. I bought this light to have a extra board and driver in case one of my existing boards or drivers fails. Thanks for all your help making my grows successful. I also wanted to say these lights for lower wattage grows some very nice bud, and they run cooler for my closet than a larger light. Fantastic product at a great price Thanks, Dennis

I purchased two more HLG 100 Rspecs for my expanded citrus collection this winter, having previously purchased one to supplement an Amazon buy. They have become my primary lights and are excellent as supplementary to South facing windows. I would highly recommend them for your plants & in the future if I were to get more lights for my plants, I would immediately go to the HLG store without even considering an alternative.

I'll admit I was/am a novice when it comes to lighting for a grow tent, however now that I have done some extensive research into what makes a quality light, and what prices are fair, I'm honestly a bit upset with my purchase of the HLG-100 Rspec and am likely going to return it.

For starters it is a solid little light with good diodes and a solid little mean well driver.. but that being said, for the $150 you have to pay to get only 100watts of power, with only 4 660nm diodes out of the whole board and no dimming switch???
Like seriously? Talk about cheesy. It's about as low budget a light as can be built.

As far as the quality of HLG lights in general they seem to be top notch, but I'm speaking more to their Diablo boards and their high end series lights in general.. certainly not cheap either, but seem to be very impressive lights overall with many vouching for their quality.

Overall, the light gets hot for what it puts out and there isn't really a heat sink on the light to speak of. Basically just a 1mm aluminum board glued to the quantum board.
I have recently purchased another much larger, 660w QB light and it blows doors on the little HLG-100..
Much more 660nm diodes on the boards and it has a 5-6mm thick aluminum plate heatsink.. and dimmable.
